Calling all students – you’re invited to the first Alumni v Students Sports Quiz!

The University are holding their first ever Alumni v Students Sports Quiz, hosted by the BBC’s Zoe Kleinman, alongside some familiar faces from across the University.

The quiz will be held on Thursday 30 July, 19:00, on the University of Southampton Alumni Facebook page.

The Radio 1 presenter known for his cringe-inducing interviews with celebs began his radio career here at Southampton where he presented on Surge Radio. After graduating with a degree in Politics in 2008, he’s now become a regular on the Scott Mills show and is renowned for THAT interview with Mila Kunis. BBC Radio 1 DJs Scott Mills and University of Southampton alumni Chris Stark have confirmed a visit to the Students’ Union on Friday 9th October to wrap up their student tour across five UK universities.

The tour, which will also visit Stirling, Liverpool, Shropshire and Aberystwyth, will be broadcast live every day from Monday 5^th – Friday 9^th October from 1-4pm during Scott’s regular radio show slot.

It’s that time of the year where we say a fond farewell to students who, having finished their programme of study, are going to be attending their graduation ceremonies.

After all the exams have been finished and marked, all the coursework has been moderated and all of the dissertations now handed back, students will return to Southampton for one last hurrah as they don the hat and robe and collect their certificates confirming that they have finished their studies and will be going into the world with a degree.

Calling all students! Can you tell us why you #LoveSouthampton?

Southampton has over 36,000 students living and studying in the city, (there’s around 23,000 enrolled at the University of Southampton alone!) each with their own special reasons why they #LoveSouthampton. The University is creating a campaign that will capture and celebrate our students’ positive experiences of the city and all the delights it has to offer and share these stories with prospective students within the region, the rest of the UK and overseas.
