This year’s Awards Ceremony at the National RAG Conference will be hosted by BBC Radio 1 presenter and DJ, Devin “Dev” Griffin. You may have heard Dev on Radio 1’s Weekend Breakfast Show, and he has previously hosted on Radio 1Xtra. Some of you may even remember him from CBBC TV shows Smile and Bring It On!
Dev will be helping us announce the best of the best in student fundraising with awards including Student Fundraiser of the Year, Most Improved RAG, Charity of the Year, RAG of the Year and many more.

Four students from our Scout Society have won the Southampton City Queen’s Scout Award on 22-23 April at Windsor Castle.
Ben McDonagh, Tom Candy, Henry Hick and Oli Bills were all recognised with the award at the celebration event, which included a parade to mark St. George’s Day.
The award is the highest youth award within Scouting, available only to those aged 18-25 who complete a big set of challenges, similar to DofE. The Queen’s Scout award involves Scouts taking on and committing to a new skill, physical activity and volunteering service for a year or more, undertaking a self-sustained … Read the rest

The quality of nominations was extremely high and we had a tough job whittling down the longlist, but we are excited to announce the award winners at our ceremony on Friday 12 May at 19:00 in The Cube.

Following a flurry of nominations, we are delighted to announce that our student-run television station, SUSUtv have been shortlisted for Best Media Society.

The National Societies Awards are coming to the Crowne Plaza, Nottingham on Friday 19 May.
The ceremony, founded last year at Bristol UWE, gives us a chance to celebrate the very best student societies in the UK.

Our very own student television station, SUSUtv, has achieved Highly Commended at National Student Television Association Awards (NaSTAs) 2017 on Saturday.
The team received the recognition for their entry, ‘Blind Love’ in the ‘Best Writing’ Category at the awards ceremony, held in Birmingham.
The film, written and directed by Tom Pethick, tells the story of a young man, Horatio, as he is forced to make the decision between love and sight as his vision grows increasingly weaker the more time he spends with the girl he loves.
