The President of Southampton RAG, Charlie Morris, and four outstanding fundraisers from the RAG team were invited to attend a conference and awards ceremony at the House of Lords on Monday 18 September, where the Union’s RAG President 2015/16, Kieran Reals, won the Individual Recognition Award.
The conference and awards were a thank you to the top fundraisers of Breast Cancer Now and a celebration of the hard work of student fundraisers across the country. Last Friday saw our annual Athletic Union Ball, complete with a full awards ceremony celebrating the sporting achievements of Team Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
The night was”buzzing”, with students enjoying a three course meal, followed by the awards and an after-party with our resident DJ, Drop Division, who played until the early hours.
Our Vice-President Sports, Tom Provan, gave a speech praising the teams and commented on winning Varsity to lots of woops and cheers.

The quality of nominations was extremely high and we had a tough job whittling down the longlist, but we are excited to announce the award winners at our ceremony on Friday 12 May at 19:00 in The Cube.
Following a flurry of nominations, we are delighted to announce that our student-run television station, SUSUtv have been shortlisted for Best Media Society.

Another day, another exciting Grad Ball announcement!
We are pleased to announce that Club Drive will be supporting alt. rock band, Don Broco, at Grad Ball on Saturday 01 June.
The four-piece pop/funk band, have previously featured as BBC Radio 1’s Track of the Week after being spotted by the BBC Introducing team. Dubbed as the ‘ones to watch’, the group are set to deliver an energetic support at this year’s Garden Court stage.

LGBT+ Society are on the Concourse in Building 42, Highfield campus, today creating a rainbow banner of handprints in support for LGBT History Month.
The student group have rallied students to use their handprints to celebrate equal opportunities for LGBT+ rights.
LGBT+ Society President, Jonathon St Clair-Smith says, “We’re making the banner to show unity within the community”.
Pop down to the Concourse before 15:00 today to show your support with a rainbow handprint and look out for the finished banner, which is due to be displayed at the Union Reception.
