Chocs away for our Easter Giveaway Eggstravaganza

Just when you were starting to feel bogged down in deadlines, it seems the Easter bunny came early.

We’ll be hopping over to the Union Redbrick on Thursday from 11:00 to lay out an edible eggstravaganza!

Eggspect a chocolate competition with a difference, as you get the chance to pick five delicious eggs from our clucky dip. If you get the golden egg, you will win a HUGE Lindt chocolate collection.

WSA End of Term BBQ Decoration Making

Fancy a break from work on Tuesday?

Members of our Marketing and Communications team are heading over to WSA between 11:00-14:00 as part of our fortnightly visits to the Winchester campus in order to host a decoration-making stall for the End of Term BBQ.

Last year, we made pom poms out of tissue paper to hang in the trees outside the WSA Cafe, which we have to say, looked pretty effective!

Why-Buy-Mince-Pie Recipe

In General

Why buy Mince Pies when you can have great fun making them whilst singing along to some top Christmas songs in your kitchen (and possibly annoying the neighbours). Our Marketing and Communications Crew member, Kathryn, shares her simple step-by-step guide on how to make them – what could go wrong?

Shopping list

  • 225g of butter, diced
  • 350g of plain flour
  • 100g of (caster) sugar
  • 280g of mincemeat
  • milk
  • Icing sugar

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180oC for a fan oven or 200oC for a normal oven.
  • Rub the diced butter into the flour until the mixture

Keeping you in the loop

You might have seen the new University of Southampton Student Communications page, but if you haven’t already now’s the time to give it a cheeky like. After the University commissioned a student communications survey last year, they found that the majority of students expressed a desire to see fewer emails flooding their inboxes and instead see more on social media. In response, the University of Southampton Student Communications page has been created to communicate student-specific news, information and community updates.
