If you could change one thing – about the Students’ Union, University, or even the world – what would it be?

As part of the this year’s Annual General Meeting at the Union, we’re asking every student to suggest one thing they’d like to change  and can submit as many ideas as you wish!

It could be big or small – more water fountains in the library, or campaigning for a better system for student loans.

Course Rep Award nominations now open

Every week, countless students give up numerous hours of their time to ensure their course is the best it can be by acting as a link between the student body, SUSU and the university, providing feedback and implementing changes. Their tireless efforts to strive for a better education for themselves and their fellow students deserve to be acknowledged, which is why the Course Representative Awards are so special, celebrating these volunteers for their dedication to improving the academic offering at University of Southampton.

Course Rep Voting Now Open!

Voting is now open for the Course Rep elections!

Course Reps are vital for having the student voice heard by the University; if there’s a problem with feedback, lecture quality or tutor support, Course Reps are the people that will represent you and your opinions, and make sure the University listens – and they do; the University really does value student input, does listen, and works really hard to introduce the changes that Course Reps want to see done.

Vote closes on Friday 25th October at 17:00 so make sure to vote by then.

Winners of the Excellence in Teaching Awards

In General

Last night saw the first ever Excellence in Teaching Awards take place at SUSU.

The event was attended by University of Southampton lecturers and staff, as well as student Course Reps, Academic Presents & Faculty Officers who were involved in selecting the winners for the awards.

663 total nominations were received from students choosing their best lecturers across five different categories, with winners chosen at Course, Faculty and University level.

We are very pleased to announce that the University Winners are:

Overall Outstanding Lecturer:

There are lots of ways to get involved with SUSU during your time at university, and you can have your first chance right now!

Getting involved as a student officer is one of the most rewarding experiences available while you’re at university and we have a variety of positions available to run for, from Student Leaders, to Union Councillors, and even as 1st year Course Reps.
