We are also running a LinkedIn Lab to help you tailor your profile to the career you’re working towards. All sessions are free but some do require sign-up via Eventbrite – check out the full details below:
Did you know rock royalty once took to the stage at the University of Southampton Students’ Union? 45 years ago, Led Zeppelin performed in Garden Court and we are celebrating this anniversary with a brilliant Charity Showcase!
Led Zeppelin performed a one-off gig at the Union in 1973 especially to gain an audible recording and footage of a live performance – Garden Court has some particularly good acoustics! Their main tour date in Southampton was at the Gaumont Theatre (now the Mayflower Theatre).
Monday sees the start of Creative Industries Careers Sessions – a host of events and networking opportunities to help give you a step towards your chosen career in the Creative Industries and we have added more events to the programme!
Are you interested in a career in the Creative Industries? Whether you want to become an artist, writer, actor or you are interested in the technical side of production and behind-the-scenes work, we are here to help.
Browse our events below and make sure you pre-register for all sessions on our Eventbrite (all sessions are free).

Do you really know what our Full-Time Officers are doing day-to-day? To help you gain an insight into what our Officers get up to while you’re in lectures, they’ve launched their very own Twitter accounts. Ask them for progress on projects at the click of a button and get a chance to snoop into the world of University meetings and events planning, as it happens.
On Thursday June 4th we will be putting on a mass showcase of societies across the Creative Industries Zone. Whether you want to show off what your dance society can do, showcase your magazine’s latest issue or hold a massive picnic, there’s a spot for you.
The Creative Industries Summer Showcase is the place for societies across the spectrum to exhibit, perform, and quite rightly show off all their amazing work. There are already some amazing ideas that we’re so excited to see put into action, but there’s still space to squeeze in a few more societies.
It’s almost upon us again: Elections season 2015 kicks off on Monday 12th January at midday, when the nominations will open online.
To kick off the nomination period, your Vice President Democracy and Creative Industries, Megan Downing will be taking over our Twitter from the moment they’re open for a live Q&A session, answering any queries from hopeful nominees as well as from anyone who wants to know more about the elections season ahead. You can nominate yourself and find out more at susu.org/stand.
