We’ve received reports of multiple students being prevented from voting their local polling station due to an administrative error, meaning they’re not on their polling station list despite being registered to vote.

morning our VP Education and Democracy, Jo Lisney, experienced this first hand
and was turned away from her polling station in Southampton Test. Jo says: “It
was a shock this morning when I went to vote and was told I couldn’t. I had my
polling card come through so I knew I could, but the people at the station

On Saturday, your Sabbatical Officers attended the Southampton protest against the prorogation of parliament, supported by mandate of a previous all student vote.

In March 2019, SUSU held an all student vote asking if students wanted to support the national campaign for a People’s Vote on Brexit. Of a total turnout of 17.9% (which is the highest turnout we have had from an all student vote), 82.9% of students overwhelmingly voted for SUSU to support this mandate.
