Student starts buying and selling website for University of Southampton students

Business student Zhanpeng Lim and his business partner, Wenhao Xie, have launched Stradents, a new Gumtree-style selling webpage aimed at University of Southampton students.

The business, founded earlier this year, aims to enable students to purchase and sell their household items.

Students can sign up for free to list the items they want to sell or purchase, listing the contact details they are happy to share as well as their University of Southampton email address.

Enterprise Fund winners receive £1000 investment for their businesses

Union Southampton awards student projects, FuseMind and EthiCo, £500 investment each, as part of the Enterprise Fund 2016.

The businesses, formed by University of Southampton students, were each awarded £250 from the Enterprise Fund, an initiative to encourage students to develop their innovative events, activities and projects. A further £250 was match-funded by Union President, Alex Hovden and awarded to each project.

How will it help me?

In May last year, University of Southampton student, Andreas Ostrovsky received a £300 investment towards prototypes for his sustainable fishing project, ‘Right Light Technologies’.
