Nominations open for the Academic Awards

Union Awards Season is upon us! We want to celebrate the people who have had a real impact on you here at university, whether that’s through excellent teaching or academic representation, fantastic sporting achievements or great volunteering successes. Whatever you want to celebrate, our awards have got it covered.

As you may remember from our previous awards blog, we’ve merged our Course Rep Awards (CRAs) and Excellence in Teaching Awards (ETAs) to form the all new Academic Awards – one unified celebration of the academic achievements across both staff and students.

We know how hard you work and how important it is to all of you that we recognise your achievements. That’s why, last year, we introduced the Course Rep Awards to celebrate the successes of the students who represent your courses and work to improve your education. The best is still to come

In General

Not blowing our own trumpet, but here at SUSU we have amazing events. So far this year we’ve had a night of Cabaret at The Bridge, Elections Night Live, the Freshers’ Ball alongside old favourites like Karaoke, Quiz & Curry and the Laughter Lounge; BUT we have even more coming up in the next term.

On May 1 we have the Athletic Union Ball. Tickets for the AU’s night of the year sold out in less than 2 hours! And with Charlie Sloth having been announced as the headline act, it’s going to be a night to remember.

Awards Nominations extension!

We know it’s been a busy few weeks with coursework deadlines and upcoming exams so due to popular demand we’ve decided to extend the nomination deadline for our awards!

Nominations for our ETAs, EVAs and CRAs or in other words, the Excellence in Volunteering Awards, the Excellence in Teaching Awards and the Course Rep Awards will now close on Monday 30 March at 12pm.

The ETAs: Last years winner
