1st October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and our very ownUni Boob Team are shouting from the rooftops about regularly checking your boobs.
You may have seen them spreading their boob wisdom around Campus and beyond, hosting Glitter Parties, cake sales, and ‘shower take-overs’, they’re all about raising awareness and having a good time doing it.

Last Friday saw our annual Athletic Union Ball, complete with a full awards ceremony celebrating the sporting achievements of Team Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
The night was”buzzing”, with students enjoying a three course meal, followed by the awards and an after-party with our resident DJ, Drop Division, who played until the early hours.
Our Vice-President Sports, Tom Provan, gave a speech praising the teams and commented on winning Varsity to lots of woops and cheers.

The Student Film Festival returns to Union Films this Thursday.
The student-led event is set to begin at 18:00, featuring screenings from the sixteen shortlisted films at the black tie evening.
There are ten awards up for grabs including:

Congratulations to all of our athletes for winning Varsity this weekend!
Varsity is the biggest Sporting event of the year and we are proud to announce another victory over Portsmouth, with a final score being 206 to Team Southampton and 170 to Portsmouth
The Varsity competition takes place between Southampton and Portsmouth each year with the Students’ Unions hosting the event on alternate years.
Our very own Paintballing Society has come first in the ‘Student Cup’ National Paintball Competition on 25-26 February.
The sixth annual tournament, organised by the UK Student Paintball Network and run by the team at the Central Premier Paintball Series (CPPS) paintball site, was held in Penkridge, Staffordshire, featuring 19 teams across two divisions, making it the biggest competition yet.
We provided the group with £265 to go towards the subsidised travel and the tournament entry free.
