At SUSU, we cherish the value of standing strong for all of our students. On behalf of the entire team at SUSU, I am horrified to watch the unfolding of an unprovoked attack by Vladimir Putin on the people of Ukraine. We all watch in awe of the brave Ukrainian and Russian civilians speaking out against tyranny and military aggression.
The University is in the process of contacting all students affected by the fast moving situation, a number of whom have already reached out to the Students’ Union for support. I would like to remind all students that SUSU’s Advice … Read the rest
On behalf of everyone at SUSU, our Union President, Ben Dolbear, has shared the statement below regarding the recent events in Afghanistan:
As an organisation that challenges discrimination and prejudice in all its forms, striving to be a force for good for both students and wider society, all of us at SUSU would like to express our outrage and sadness at the rapidly unfolding events in Afghanistan. Starting from this Saturday 01 February, The Bridge will be open 11.30–17.00 on Saturdays instead of the usual 11.30–23:00. This is to provide a consistent set of operating hours for general use of The Bridge each day.
This will also allow The Bridge to operate additional priority hours for affiliated groups who wish to book the space out for functions and events. Clubs and societies who may have previously missed out on utilising this space will now have an additional day’s opportunity every week to book it.
Want to book The Bridge for your club or society’s event?
