Over the past month, we have been looking for students who will form next year’s Sabbatical Team and our team of Student Leaders and Trustees to lead the Union on a Full-Time or Part-Time basis. The Full-Time Team (Sabbatical Officers) is made up of seven paid positions, with each one focusing on a specific area of student life, whereas the Part-Time roles are voluntary and carried out alongside your studying.

Voting is now open for our Spring Elections at www.unionsouthampton.org/vote or at one of our physical polling stations across campus.
Midday today saw the start of Voting Week in our Spring Elections, where all current University of Southampton students become eligible to cast their votes for the students that you want to lead our Union for the next academic year. All you need is your Student ID to be able to vote.
The voting period lasts until 16:00 on Friday (03 March).
Do you really know what our Full-Time Officers are doing day-to-day? To help you gain an insight into what our Officers get up to while you’re in lectures, they’ve launched their very own Twitter accounts. Ask them for progress on projects at the click of a button and get a chance to snoop into the world of University meetings and events planning, as it happens.
We announced the candidates last Friday and you will have the opportunity to vote for who you want to lead your Union from midday on Monday 29th February.

Monday was #LoveSUs Day, where people were tweeting in the things that they love about their Students’ Unions across the UK in response to the government’s Higher Education green paper that announced a consultation on increasing the transparency and accountability of students’ unions. The day was a great chance to join together with students and alumni to celebrate the positive impact of students’ unions across the country.
