We are currently working on a Communications Strategy to review the way we communicate both internally within SUSU and externally to you. This involves looking at how we use our social media channels and emails to keep you informed. But, as a student-led organisation, we want to give you the chance to let us know what you think. Do you get the information you need when you need it? Tell us at one of our FREE Comms Workshops…
By taking part, you will be actively involved in improving the way you receive information from us, both in terms of content … Read the rest
Union Awards Season is upon us! We want to celebrate the people who have had a real impact on you here at university, whether that’s through excellent teaching or academic representation, fantastic sporting achievements or great volunteering successes. Whatever you want to celebrate, our awards have got it covered.
As you may remember from our previous awards blog, we’ve merged our Course Rep Awards (CRAs) and Excellence in Teaching Awards (ETAs) to form the all new Academic Awards – one unified celebration of the academic achievements across both staff and students.
Nominations for this award are now open, so what … Read the rest
The University carry out a student travel survey to find out how student travel habits have changed over time. The results will help inform the University’s Travel Plan, which seeks to provide good, sustainable transport links between University Campuses. For example, last year there were over 5 million journeys on Uni-link buses and our Bike Doctor Service repaired more than 1,000 staff and student bikes. Results of the survey will be reported in the Plan.
If you complete it, you will have the option to enter a prize draw to win either one of five £50 West Quay vouchers, … Read the rest

We have had an overwhelming response with the Brand Review survey. Over 2,000 of you have told us what you think about the SUSU brand. Today is the final day of the survey, so if you haven’t filled it out yet, make sure you do! Your views on this are vital. Our brand is about how you as our audience see, talk about and experience the Students’ Union.
As you may have heard, we are in the middle of our brand review, which means that we are reviewing the way the SUSU brand looks and feels.
We want you to be central to this process, so we are asking as many of you as possible to complete our short survey to let us know what you think about the SUSU brand.
The more of you who complete it, the more likely it is that we can make the Students’ Union relevant to you, no matter who you are and what you study!
Have you always wanted to know about how branding agencies come up with some of the world’s most recognisable brands?
Look no further.

Our mission statement is to unlock the potential and enrich the life of every student and that means that we aim to provide opportunities, facilities and services that include every student, regardless of what you’re studying and where.
You Said – “Improve transport services between Southampton and WSA”
The Students’ Union Did – We introduced the Shuttle Bus, a free service operating between the WSA and the University Highfield Campus, Monday-Friday during term-time from 8:00 to 20:00.
The two campuses are better connected and you are able to attend events at both locations.
We understand that University is a great chance to explore different opportunities: join societies, make new friends, take up a new hobby and discover your new surroundings. That’s why we do everything we can to ensure that your student experience is the best it can be! Here are some things that you asked for and we made happen…
You Said – “Help us to find suitable work opportunities”
The Students’ Union Did – In September, we launched our very own on-site recruitment agency, SURecruit, to help you find part-time work while you study.
