Over £300 raised in MindSoc and Hillwalking Club’s Santa Hillwalk

Mind Society’s annual walk with the Hill Walking Club has so far raised an incredible £308 for charity.

The annual walk sees Mind Society and the Hillwalking Club come together with volunteers to walk all the way to Winchester from Southampton dressed in their best Christmas attire. This year proceeds from the walk will be going to both Solent Mind, the Southampton branch of the mental health charity Mind and No Limits, a charity offering free and confidential information, advice, counselling, support and advocacy for young people.

#BurstTheBubble – It’s time to talk about mental health

It’s mental health awareness week, so we’ve teamed up with the University to provide a series of events in support of promoting mental health support and reducing the stigma around seeking help.

  • Time to Change cinema

Pop in to Time to Change’s pop-up gazebo cinema between 11:00-15:00 see short films about mental health and have a chat with one of the Peer Supporters. Find out more on the Time To Change website.

NHS Health Team Visit Our Union Redbrick on Friday

In General

Our local NHS team are bringing their health roadshow to campus on Friday.

The team will be on the Redbrick in their Health Bus between 10:00-14:00 on the Redbrick.

They will be available to offer their top tips for staying healthy as a University student and give you an opportunity to chat with them about your experience of using local health services.

There is no need to book an appointment – simply turn up and climb aboard to chat to one of the friendly staff.

Health & Safety Incidents – what do you need to do?

The Union and the University take health and safety very seriously and together we work hard to make sure everyone is safe on campus.
