Making friends at uni is a worry for many new students. Coming from home, from a smaller college, or a group you have known since year 7 into an environment where there are 23,000 other students can be pretty nerve wracking.

This week is #transawarenessweek – a time for transgender people and their allies to bring awareness of transgender and gender non-conforming people and to highlight issues the community face.
This week we were joined by Nia, President of our LGBT+ Society and Fleur, President of our Feminist Society to talk all about Transgender Awareness Week.

1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year.
Look out for the SU elephant, affectionately known as Trunky, which will be in a different part of the SU every month to raise awareness of mental health as part of the ‘Elephant in the Room’ campaign.
