The Pre-sessional programme is back for another summer which means the Union will become a one-stop shop for some great FREE activities and events to welcome our Pre-sessional students. And the best part – you can get involved too!

Get all the support you need to help you settle in with our free Advice Drop-In on Monday, make your halls a home with a herb garden from our gardening session and get to know your fellow students at our BBQ on Friday, plus much more!

What is Engineers Without Borders?

Engineers Without Borders is a UK charity dedicated to facilitating human development through engineering. This aim is achieved by providing engineering expertise to partner charities, and encouraging better consideration of global responsibility in education. Southampton ranked 60th most international university in the world

According to a list compiled in the Times Higher Education (THE), Southampton has been ranked in the top 60 most international universities in the world and 21st amongst list of UK universities.

Around 1/3 of the university’s total students are international and the University has a campus in Malaysia.

We are always looking for new ways that we can support our international students, both in study and in the other aspects of University life. Union Upgrade: The future of your Union

As some of you may now be aware, this year your Students’ Union is embarking on a significant review of some of its key areas. The project, which will be known as ‘Union Upgrade’, will include a review of the following:

  • SUSU Brand
  • Democracy
  • Volunteering
  • Student Communities (including International review, Halls Committee review and WSA review)

October’s Black History Month Events

In General

This year we have lots of events planned to commemorate Black History Month, .

Black History Month is a time to recognise and celebrate the important contributions that people of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage make to humanity – raising awareness of different cultures and communities, and our events aim to highlight these contributions.

The Bridge to host International Forum

In General

The Bridge on the University of Southampton’s Highfield campus will host an International Forum Event on Wednesday 18th February at 18:00.

The event will focus on bringing about positive change for International Students at the University and aims to create an open discussion between students and the issues they face academically and personally whilst living and working in Southampton.

Topics of conversation during the evening include safety, security, support and accessibility, with five speakers leading the evening’s discussions.
