Rebrand: Are you ready for it?

Since December we have been working on a review and now a rebrand of SUSU.

It’s been quite a journey! We’ve completed surveys and workshops involving both staff members and yourselves and we’ve made visits to Holdens’ branding agency in Manchester to discuss some interesting concepts discussed along the way.

After months of planning and getting everything ready, the Union’s very own job hunting service SURecruit is launching today!

Students have been asking us to help them to find part-time work, so that is exactly what we have done! WINchester: Union launches FREE shuttle bus between WSA and Highfield

In General

We have already promised that life at the Union will be bigger and better this year and the good news starts here: we have been working in partnership with the University of Southampton to launch a FREE shuttle bus to take students from Winchester School of Art (WSA) to Highfield Interchange.

The bus, launching at Freshers’, is intended to make Highfield campus more accessible to WSA students.

Time to talk about the elephant in the room

On the 6th May the Captains of the Sports Groups will be attending the National Student Minds and BUCS pilot programme which aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and what sports teams can do to facilitate any issues for their members. The session is from 1pm-3pm in SUSU, after this session the Captains will meet in the Concourse to launch the start of the Elephant in the Room campaign.

Startup Weekend is back!

Budding student entrepreneurs who are looking to create a new business or develop the latest tech innovation are invited to Startup Weekend Southampton at the University of Southampton from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May.

The student-led event will enable technical and non-technical entrepreneurs to collaborate on new projects and create a business idea within 54 hours.
