Union Southampton’s Ladies Football Club (SULFC) offers free football coaching for local schoolchildren

We are delighted to announce that Ladies Football Club (SULFC) have begun to to deliver free football to local schoolchildren across Southampton.
The outreach programme is designed to encourage the club to expand their football provision internally and out to the community. Eleven members of SULFC are signed up to the programme, which is open to Key Stage 2 girls at three local Southampton Primary schools: Bassett Green, Bitterne Manor and Beechwood Junior. All sessions are free for students to attend and are run as after-school clubs.

Students Launch Southampton’s First Ever Student-Led Waste Recycling Scheme

The student group, Southampton Hub, launches Bio-Cycle, Southampton’s first ever student-led food waste recycling scheme in a bid to benefit the local community by recycling and repurposing otherwise wasted food.

The scheme works by providing you with a five litre food waste caddy, filters and a roll of compostable bin liners at the cost of £10, which includes automatic registration for the regular weekly food waste pickup service.

Up to 160 students are already benefitting from the project, with waste collections organised at 33 households across Southampton, equating to approximately 200kg of recycled food waste every month.

Nuffield Theatre: Be in a Professional Production!

Fancy yourself as a bit of an actor, dancer or musician? Want the chance to work with world-class theatre professionals?

The Nuffield Theatre are giving you the opportunity to appear in a professional production of John Steinbeck’s epic play The Grapes of Wrath, directed by the Nuffield’s Associate Director Abbey Wright.

Auditions are open to all Southampton residents on Tuesday 13 December. You don’t need any previous theatre or drama skills at all, just enthusiasm and a willingness to turn up regularly to rehearsals and be part of the team.
