How can the Union improve our campuses?

Our VP Student Communities, Emily Harrison, launched our Sites Survey this week to hear your feedback on how we can improve student life at Avenue and Boldrewood campuses, the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton General Hospital and the Winchester School of Art.

If you spend time studying at any of these campuses, whether it’s a full week or just a few hours, we want to hear from YOU! Whatever ideas you have about how they can be improved or how we can extend the Union’s presence there, let us know.

SUSU Forums launches to connect campuses

Last week, SUSU Forums launched in an effort to develop a better dialogue with minority communities which are part of the University of Southampton.

The forum which is part of the Students’ Union website aims to facilitate student discussion including feedback linked to what SUSU can do for students. Currently, the communities which the site has been established for are Winchester School of Art, Southampton General Hospital, National Oceanography Centre and postgraduate students.

Thinking of running in the elections? See the sites with SUSU!

In General

If you’re thinking of running in the upcoming Spring Elections but have never been to some of our many sites, SUSU will be running a special free minibus tour on Friday 14th February at 10am to show you what goes on at them.

 

We often have problems with candidates and students at sites feeling disconnected from each other, and in many cases this has been because candidates just don’t know what goes on at the sites.

Voting in Autumn Elections now OPEN

In General

Voting is now OPEN in the Student Leader and Union Councillor Elections, and you can view the candidates and cast your vote online at www.susu.org/vote.

Student Leaders look after different areas within SUSU and represent the views of specific groups of students, like Postgraduate students, students based in Winchester or at other sites like the National Oceanography Centre and students within specific faculties. Voting on Student Leader positions is a great way to have a say on specific areas of SUSU and make sure your views are represented properly.
