10th October is World Mental Health Day, an annual day recognised by The World Health Organisation to provide an opportunity for those working on mental health issues to talk about their work and what more needs to be done. This year’s theme, chosen by the World Federation for Mental Health, is ‘young people and mental health in a changing world’.

On the 6th May the Captains of the Sports Groups will be attending the National Student Minds and BUCS pilot programme which aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and what sports teams can do to facilitate any issues for their members. The session is from 1pm-3pm in SUSU, after this session the Captains will meet in the Concourse to launch the start of the Elephant in the Room campaign.
