All Student Vote: The Results

Earlier this week, we asked you “Should the Students’ Union support the national campaign for a People’s Vote on Brexit?”

A turnout of 10% of students was required for the vote to be valid. We are pleased to announce that 3,755 of you voted, in less than 72 hours, an overall turnout of 17.9%.

The final results were:

23% of voters were Postgraduate Taught or Postgraduate Research students, which is fantastic to see – that’s actually more postgraduates voting now than in the recent Spring Elections.

Union staff to present training programme success at national conference

Staff from our Learning and Development team have been invited to present their successful launch of the Union’s ‘A To B’ Project Management programme to the Charity Learning Consortium (CLC) at their annual national conference.

The conference, which will be held on Thursday 22 June in London, will host non-profit organisations from across the UK to network and share best practice.

CLC approached the Union to ask if our Learning and Development team could present a section of the conference to explain how they used the software to engage with staff on the course.

Penny Pinching for National Student Money Week

National Student Money Week runs between the Monday 06 – Friday 10 February. Students’ Unions all over the country are running events to give you tips and advice on how to stretch those pennies a little bit further. Whether it is by planning your food shop by using a list or opening a separate bank account to help you save – we’re interested in hearing what you do, so we can share ideas to other students. Black History Month: Caribbean Culture Night

Here at the Union we’re in the midst of Black History Month. This is a time to recognise and celebrate the important contributions that people of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage make to humanity – raising awareness of different cultures and communities.
