Nominations are now open in the Summer Elections 2018!

This is a brilliant opportunity to develop your skills whilst working with a student-led charity organisation to represent our members and make positive changes to student life. The roles are part-time, meaning they can fit alongside your studies nicely – they will help boost your CV, too! The positions we are looking to fill are:


Academic Roles:

  • School Presidents
  • Department Presidents

By-elected Student Leaders:

  • Arts and Humanities Faculty Officer
  • Halls Officer
  • Housing Officer
  • Intra-Mural Officer
  • Student Enterprise Officer

WSA Committee Roles:

  • WSA International Officer
  • WSA Social Events Officer
  • WSA Welfare Officer

Spring Elections – the next steps!

Over the past month, we have been looking for students who will form next year’s Sabbatical Team and our team of Student Leaders and Trustees to lead the Union on a Full-Time or Part-Time basis. The Full-Time Team (Sabbatical Officers) is made up of seven paid positions, with each one focusing on a specific area of student life, whereas the Part-Time roles are voluntary and carried out alongside your studying.

Spring Elections 2017 – Nominations are Open!

It’s that time of year again… *drum roll please* nominations for the Spring Elections 2017 have officially opened today (Monday 30 January)!

If you’re keen to represent the Students’ Union, and would like to become one of our next Full-time Sabbatical Officers, now is your chance to nominate yourself. These are paid positions and you will have the responsibility of overseeing the policy and activity zones, and setting the direction for our Union.

There are 7 positions up for grabs, and just a reminder these are:

  • Union President
  • VP Democracy and Creative Industries

  • VP Engagement

Do you want the opportunity to enhance your CV, do something you feel passionately about and improve your student experience all at the same time? Run for one of these positions:

  • Senators – Interested in overseeing the political direction of the Union? There are 8 roles available to ensure a better reflection of the whole student body. We continually work to find new ways to improve our services to you in Winchester, so you can access opportunities that will make your student experience at University. For the first time ever this year, we have created a Winchester Student Committee, which includes roles for elected students to take ownership of the Union and to give you the chance to work with us to make the changes you want to see.

The nominations for Spring Elections are open, but how much do you really know about the elections process? Find out more with our myth-buster!
