In the recent National Student Survey 2016 results, Union Southampton dropped six points to an overall satisfaction rating of 66%. The sector average for satisfaction is 68%, so we are slightly below that. While we had some good news, specifically a massive increase of satisfaction at the Winchester School of Art campus, this overall satisfaction result is obviously disappointing.
We had a high percentage of respondents who responded that they neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement (20%) or felt the Union was not applicable to them (2%). This represents a large percentage of our members who are indifferent and … Read the rest

What is the NSS?
If you’re a third year student, you probably can’t go anywhere without seeing or hearing about the National Student Survey, or NSS.
The NSS is a nationwide census of nearly half a million students which gathers feedback on your time at university. This information is then used to identify what went well and what could be improved.
The survey will soon be entering its next stage and contacting students by telephone, so if you haven’t yet taken the survey and want to avoid getting hassled, make sure you head over to the National Student Survey 2016… Read the rest

The latest National Student Survey (NSS) released today, shows that satisfaction with the Union has improved from 69% to 72%.
We are happy to announce that this rise in score means that the Union has jumped up 12 spaces in the union rankings within the Student Survey table.
While we are pleased with this improvement, we recognise this is just a starting point and a lot of work still needs to be done to put us where we want to be as one of the top five unions in the country.
In response to the results, Union President, Ben Franklin … Read the rest
