Our student-run station were recording live between 12:00-16:00 via their website at www.surgeradio.co.uk.
Local musicians joined the team to perform live on the show, including Portsmouth-based singer-songwriter, Jerry Williams and Will Joseph Cook, an indie solo artist with several million streams on Spotify.

Our student-run station is set to record between 12:00-16:00 on Thursday in a series of four live sessions, which students can listen to on the station’s website at www.surgeradio.co.uk. Surge Radio has raised £863.40 for Comic Relief, at their annual 48 hour broadcasting marathon on Thursday – Saturday.
The total nearly doubled their initial fundraising goal of £480 for the charity.
The marathon, which was broadcast live outside the Union building on the Redbrick, started at 00:00 on Thursday, ending 48 hours later at 00:00 on Saturday 25 March.
The shows featured a series of competitions, on-air challenges, and games, including an appearance from BBC Radio 1 DJ and Surge alumna, Chris Stark, who tuned in on Thursday morning to offer the team motivation and a donation of £100.… Read the rest

The Students’ Union’s very own Surge Radio have been nominated for two Student Radio Awards (SRAs) 2015.
Our student-run radio station have been nominated for Best Live Event or Outside Broadcast for their coverage of the 48 Hour Marathon and for Best Newcomer, where Toby Leveson has been nominated for his contribution to the station from 2014-15.
The 48 Hour Marathon was broadcast back in March where Surge raised over £1000 for RAG and the Teenage Cancer Trust whilst broadcasting for 48 hours straight.
