Your Skills – Elections Schedule!

Do you need any help with your election campaign? #YourSkills offers FREE training sessions providing transferable skills, important campaigning tips (like designing posters and public speaking) and help in getting your campaign team organised. Each session is run by trained volunteers so you know you’ll be in good hands!

Stress Less Fest is back!

…which roughly translates to: “exam season is back!” But no worries, here at SUSU we’ve got a few bits and pieces organised to keep you sane throughout the exam period. Between 12 and 23 January, we’ll be holding our infamous Stress Less Fest on campus. With exam period commencing that very week, this is a timely opportunity to battle stress-levels university-wide.

Roundup of the Creative Industries Careers Season!

Specially established to support students thinking about a career in the creative industry, SUSU’s Creative Industries Careers Season ran from Saturday 29 November to Friday 12 December. The Creative Industries Zone aimed to further students’ experience in media in the arts with a number of relevant Your Skills sessions designed to train and inform attendees about creative careers.

‘Your Skills’ Sessions Success Stories!

In case you didn’t already know, ‘Your Skills’ is SUSU’s programme of training provided especially for our student volunteers. SUSU RAG raises over £5000 with Big Give 2014

SUSU RAG has raised over £5000 for charity with their Big Give campaign – a week long charity drive to make it as easy as possible to donate money.

 

The campaign ran with the slogan “Give a pound, change a life” and urged students and staff to donate money to the charitable causes which the department supports.

 

RAG, which stands for Raise and Give, is a student-led fundraising organisation, which raises money for three charities which are nominated each academic year. This year the charities being supported are Wessex Heartbeat which helps to improve cardiac care in Southampton, … Read the rest
