The roles currently available are School and Department Presidents for each faculty, Student Office roles (all listed below), PGR Reps for each faulty, Student Trustees and our Chair of Senate.

Nominations for our Summer Elections are now open – you have until Wednesday 4th May to nominate yourself for one of hundreds of positions that will equip you with new skills and impact on the experience of your fellow students.
If you’ve never considered becoming part of the Students’ Union team, here is just a snapshot of what our Course Reps have achieved for students.
Law
Secured extended opening times for the Law building during exam periods.
Chemistry
Secured print credit from the Faculty for all students on this course.
Whether it is the EU Referendum, Spring Elections or being bombarded by students in t-shirts with fliers, elections seem to be everywhere. You may feel like they don’t affect you, but:
Did you have an opinion on whether the Hartley Library should be open for 24 hours, year-round?
Have you visited The Bridge this year?
Have you attended a student group or society this year?
If you answered YES to any of the above, you have engaged in the Students’ Union. These are just three examples of how you may have engaged with your Union, out of literally hundreds!
If you found yourself thinking about running in the Spring Elections, but for whatever reason didn’t, we are giving you another chance! We understand that January was a busy time with exams, so we are holding Summer Elections to give you another opportunity to run your Students’ Union with hundreds of different roles including:
Student Leaders
Our Student Leaders are senior part-time officers who lead on various areas of the Union’s work. We’ve got several positions still available from the Spring Elections, so if there’s something you might be interested in, give it a go!
Nominations close tomorrow (Wednesday 6 May) at 12pm for the Summer Elections, which means you still have time to run for one of the fabulous part time positions.
Whatever you’re interested in, there’ll be a role for you. All of them have differing responsibilities but they’re all great ways to get more involved in the union and get experience that looks excellent on your CV.
