The Students’ Union is full of weird and fun facts that you may have never known about…until now!
Let’s start with one of our favourites…we have our own cat called Susu!
Susu is a stray cat who has adopted the Students’ Union at Highfield as her home – you can often see her chilling on the sofas by The Cube being cuddled by students.
In preparation for Freshers’, we ordered over 7,000 pot noodles to give away to this year’s intake!

We don’t mean to brag, but members of SUSU are amazing volunteers. Alongside their degrees then run JCRS, coach sports teams, raise money for charity and so much more. There’s no way to summarise the incredible work members of SUSU do, but we do have one evening a year where we celebrate the hours of work put in.

Not blowing our own trumpet, but here at SUSU we have amazing events. So far this year we’ve had a night of Cabaret at The Bridge, Elections Night Live, the Freshers’ Ball alongside old favourites like Karaoke, Quiz & Curry and the Laughter Lounge; BUT we have even more coming up in the next term.
On May 1 we have the Athletic Union Ball. Tickets for the AU’s night of the year sold out in less than 2 hours! And with Charlie Sloth having been announced as the headline act, it’s going to be a night to remember.
It’s been a rollercoaster six weeks for SUSU Freshers’ Fest 2014 – we’ve seen huge events like the Freshers’ Ball and the Fruit Salad Party, and countless smaller events too. Here’s what’s going on in the final week – including our must-go Halloween Party on Friday 31st!
The winners in each category will be revealed at a glitzy awards night in The Cube on Friday 3 May, and you can get tickets for the event right now from www.susu.org/boxofficeor in person from The Box Office at Reception in Building 42.

We’re continuing to use your feedback from our Nightlife Survey to plan the events for this term, and have just released info about our next Friday Night event on 15th February 2013.
Based on your feedback, the capacity for our events is now lower to make sure that you get the best night out possible and as always we’re still going to be bringing you the best value drinks on a Friday night – including our new cocktail “The Cubicle”.
