We want to make sure new and returning students are given a big welcome (or welcome back!) to uni this September, and ensure campus is a safe environment for everyone.
All SUSU’s buildings and venues paces on campus will have additional safety measures in place, such as hand sanitising stations and one-way systems. Our venues may have altered opening hours this term, check our website to see when we’re open: SUSU Places.

We are pleased to announce The Shop will reopen on Monday 13 July. Opening hours will be 10:00 – 16:00, Monday – Friday.
Whether you need lunch on the go, toiletries, international foods, essentials for your cupboards, or stationery, The Shop has got you covered.

In response to student feedback, The Cafe will now be open later during The Shop’s reduced opening hours over the Summer period.
The Cafe will now be open for business between 16:00 and 19:00 for students to buy sandwiches, snacks, drinks and more. Hot food won’t be served however, this can still be purchased from either The Bridge or The Stag’s.
This is a trial running until 17 July to determine if there is enough demand to keep it open permanently. You can find the Cafe on level 3 of the SUSU building (Building 42).
You may have read our previous blog claiming that pain au chocolat, croissants and brioche pastry products in Union outlets due to Brexit. However, we can now happily reveal that this was in fact an April Fools’ Day joke.
Pâtisserie Paradis is a completely made up company and we continue to enjoy a great relationship with our suppliers.
You can rest assured that our pastry products will still be supplied to The Shop, The Bridge and The Café as normal. Phew!
We will no longer be selling pain au chocolat, croissants and brioche pastry products in our Union outlets due to the recent government decision to trigger Article 50 to begin the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.
The French company, Pâtisserie Paradis, that has been supplying The Shop, The Bridge and The Café for over 20 years, will sadly be bidding the Union farewell as we regrettably agree to leave our contract.
