What’s On at Union Films

In General

Union Films, your student run cinema based in the heart of the Union, always has lots on offer for students, and the week ahead is no different.

Today kicks off with one of the cinema’s most popular events in the form of a movie marathon! The marathon will be based around Studio Ghibli, the Japanese based animation studio. If you’ve never visited our in-house student run cinema, then where have you been?! Located next to Bar Three Diner in Building 42, Highfield campus, the cinema shows the latest films for bargain prices. Where else can you watch new releases for just £4 per person?

This Week at Union Films: The Age of Adaline and Ant-Man

Union Films, the student run cinema operating from within the Union building, have already shown some great films this week including Terminator Genisys and Ted 2, kicking off what is a great week for cinema.

First up tomorrow at 5pm is The Age of Adaline, a romantic fantasy film about a 29 year old lady who, after recovering from a nearly lethal accident, finds out she is no longer growing older. Starring Blake Lively and Harrison Ford, it’s a sweet tale that you shouldn’t miss!

October’s Black History Month Events

In General

This year we have lots of events planned to commemorate Black History Month, .

Black History Month is a time to recognise and celebrate the important contributions that people of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage make to humanity – raising awareness of different cultures and communities, and our events aim to highlight these contributions.

Union Films Present: Jurassic World

In General

Here at the Students’ Union, we’re lucky enough to have tonnes of amazing facilities and societies, including our very own on-site cinema, Union Films. Run entirely by student volunteers, it is the best place to relax and enjoy the latest cinematic releases at a bargain price.

One of this summer’s biggest blockbusters, Jurassic World, will be taking to our very own silver screen this weekend. The fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park series, the film broke records on its opening weekend and received rave reviews.
