Jo Lisney (VP Education and Democracy) and Hartley Library have successfully secured £10,000 for additional Humanities textbooks.
Humanities students can request any books/textbooks they need via the library, and can then borrow them as many times as they need to.
Jo says: “We’ve received a lot of feedback through SSLCs and student surveys about there not being enough copies of Humanities textbooks for students to access – whether that’s due to cost or availability. VP Education and Democracy
This role is a paid, full-time opportunity and the main priorities are:
Represent Students’ Academic Interests
Lead and support the Undergraduate academic representation structure
Provide representation for all Postgraduate students, including leading the Postgraduate Committee and the Postgraduate Research Faculty Reps
The election of Sabbatical and Student Officers in this years Spring Election on the 06 March will leave some senior empty positions within our academic representation structure. As a result, the Academic Elections will follow to fill our remaining academic officer positions.
Nominations are now open in our Spring Elections until Wednesday 12 February, and one of the roles you can run for is VP Education & Democracy.
Do you have ideas about how to improve student’s academic experience or desire to increase student engagement with SUSU’s advice centre? This may be the role for you! All it takes is one great idea and lots of passion for the role – remember, change starts with you.
