SUSU to host Mental Health and Wellbeing Day

In General

The Southampton branch of Student Minds – a national student mental health charity – will hold a day of events and activities on Wednesday (18.02.15) to promote issues of mental wellbeing among the student population.

Representatives from listening support service Nightline, SUSU’s Peer Support programme and Student Minds will all be running stalls to provide information on the day, as well as encouraging students to contribute to an art installation targeting the issues related to mental health.

Wellbeing Day 2014

Following the success of Wellbeing Week last May, amongst other events and conferences to promote mental and physical Wellbeing, SUSU is holding its annual Wellbeing Day on November 4 from 10am – 4pm. In this joint venture between the voluntary taskforce of the University and the Students’ Union, there will be a range of talks and workshops offered with the aim of promoting better understanding of mental health and wellbeing. What is wellbeing day?

Wellbeing day is a joint venture between the voluntary taskforce of the University of Southampton and the Student Union, SUSU. The aim of the day is to promote wellbeing in general, with a focus on mental health. A diverse range of activities are available to all students and staff who want to get involved. You can get involved in as much or as little as you like!

First ever Wellbeing Day

In General

On Tuesday 29th October we will be holding our first ever Wellbeing Day. Organised in collaboration with the university, the fun event will kick off in the Hartley Room at 9.15am.

The day will run until 4.30pm, featuring a range of workshops and stalls related to improving your wellbeing.

Talks taking place include, An introduction to mindfulness practice, Holistic approaches and even a Pets as Therapy talk with special guest Alfie the dog!

Some of the events have limited spaces so early booking is advised.
