October’s Black History Month Events

In General

This year we have lots of events planned to commemorate Black History Month, .

Black History Month is a time to recognise and celebrate the important contributions that people of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage make to humanity – raising awareness of different cultures and communities, and our events aim to highlight these contributions.

A huge Varsity victory for #TeamSoton

It maybe Monday morning, but it’s time to celebrate as yesterday saw another victory for Team Southampton over in Portsmouth in our annual Varsity competition. SUSU does LGBT History Month

For the last two months SUSU’s Equality and Diversity Committee have been working hard in collaboration with The Edge and Wessex Scene magazines to create a month full of exciting activities and events to celebrate LGBT History Month. In addition to these events, we are releasing a special edition magazine for the month, celebrating the unique stories and contributions
of LGBT people in the community. We would like to emphasise that everyone is welcome to attend the events, not just members of the LGBT community.

The Edge launches new website

In General

The student-run entertainment magazine, The Edge, has today (24.11.14) launched a brand new website.

The magazine – which was originally an insert into fellow publication the Wessex Scene – has received a digital facelift by Online Manager Emily Mitchell, meaning that the website is more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing for the thousands of readers who visit each month.

Brazil 2014 World Cup at The Stag’s Head

World Cup football fever has truly set in and we’re certainly excited!

 

To celebrate the beautiful game, The Stag’s Head is televising matches every day for the next few weeks, with special deals on food and drinks throughout the tournament.
