Autumn By-elections: Nominations Now Open

As well as our Halls Elections, we are also running by-elections for a select number of roles at the Union. If you want to make a difference on your course, at your faculty, or to represent a wider community of students, put your name forward!

Nominations are open from Monday 05 November at 09:00 – Thursday 22 November at 13:00.

The roles available in this round of elections are below –

Voting for Autumn Elections now open

Voting for our Autumn Elections is now open. This is your chance to have your say on who will represent you and make your voice heard at University, at your Halls, and in all aspects of student life at Southampton.

Vote for who will be your Course Reps, Faculty Officers, Halls Committee and Zones members. Postgrad students can choose who will be on the Postgraduate Committee and the new Postgraduate Research Reps. WSA students can decide who they would like to be part of the Winchester Committee. WSA Free Fruit Fridays

Hi everyone, it’s Venny, WSA Campus President for 2017/2018.

It was fantastic to meet so many of you at our first Free Fruit Fridays last week. For those of you who haven’t heard about it, Free Fruit Fridays is a brand new initiative led by the WSA Committee, and it’s exactly what it sounds like – you’ll will receive free fruit from the Students’ Union and the Student Committee, no strings attached. This project will run fortnightly on Fridays, in the WSA Cafe from approximately 10:00 until 14:00, although it may finish sooner depending on when we run out … Read the rest

Summer Elections – Nominate now!

In General

Whether it is the EU Referendum, Spring Elections or being bombarded by students in t-shirts with fliers, elections seem to be everywhere. You may feel like they don’t affect you, but:

  • Did you have an opinion on whether the Hartley Library should be open for 24 hours, year-round?
  • Have you visited The Bridge this year?
  • Have you attended a student group or society this year?

If you answered YES to any of the above, you have engaged in the Students’ Union. These are just three examples of how you may have engaged with your Union, out of literally hundreds!
