Over £5000 raised for Japan
In the last ten days or so I have had several emails or phone calls each day from students wanting to raise money to help the people of Japan. I have been seriously impressed by the way so many students have responded proactively to the disaster.
Several groups began fund raising as early as Tuesday last week. Today the RAG treasurer spent her afternoon counting all the money collected by these groups, and I am very excited to announce that the total raised so far for the British Red Cross Japan appeal is £5213.09!
Of this £494.97 was raised at Men’s Day on Monday and £4718.12 was raised by Japanese Society throughout the week, including the AISEC Global Village event.
There are several more fund raising events being planned for the appeal, including fund raising at Varsity this weekend and an event at WSA.
If you would like to get involved in any of the fund raising being planned, or have an event of your own that you would like to run please email email@example.com.
