ARE YOU STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY?

ARE YOU STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY?

The Finance information and Assistance team may be able to help!  If you are a UK undergraduate student who is receiving all the funding  you are entitled to through Student Finance England or the NHS and you are in genuine financial hardship, you may be able to access some funds from the Access to Learning Fund (ALF).

ALF is a government fund which is designed to help with students who are in genuine financial hardship – it is not designed to meet the cost of tuition fees.  It is income assessed, so you will need to let us see copies of your bank statements, funding and benefit information if applicable and any saving accounts you might have.  Your incomings and outgoings will be assessed under the rules of the fund and if there is a shortfall, a non repayable bursary may be provided.

If you are a UK undergraduate student who is receiving all the funding you are entitled to but still genuinely struggling financially and you feel that ALF may be able to ease your situation, please contact the Student Advisory Team by telephoning 02380 599 599 or drop into the Student Services Centre to make an appointment.  We will discuss your circumstances further and, if appropriate, arrange an appointment with one of our trained advisors.
