Always Get Home Safe
The Student Taxi scheme can now be used!
The scheme is to ensure that if you’ve lost your money or are in a vulnerable position you can still get home safe.
There’s 4 simple steps to using this scheme:
1. Phone Radio Taxis on 023 8066 6666 and state that you’re using this scheme
2. Wait for your text message telling you that you’re taxi’s arrived and double check the registration plate in your text matches the one on the taxi.
3. When you get home, sign the driver’s receipt and hand over your Student ID.
4. Wait 24 hours, come to SUSU Reception (The Union, Building 42) collect your card and pay the taxi fare.
*A £2 transaction fee will be charged to cover the driver’s petrol costs and time*
Look out for our Promo team giving out these cards this week about the scheme and find them on SUSU Reception!

If we were to buy the Safety Bus Term Pass, would a £2 transaction fee still be charged to cover the driver’s petrol costs and time every time?

The scheme looks great, although it seems for me it has a little drawback: if person lost money with wallet, the card could be there as well. So if person is really in a vulnerable position, and doesn’t have a card, it might not work.
