Southampton Swap Shop
Swap your way to free clothes at Southampton Swap Shop
On Thursday 5th December, SUSU, along with the University, are holding the first Swap Shop of the year!
Bring in your old unwanted clothes and swap them for some entirely new free items that can brighten up your wardrobe.
Who is it for?
This event is for YOU! And not just people reading this, but friends, flat mates, course mates and that person you sat opposite in the library yesterday! Make sure you spread the word, and it isn’t just for students…staff can come too, so tell your lecturers all about it!
At the first Swap Shop in March 2013 over 150 people took part, with over 500 items going to new homes – don’t miss out on your opportunity to take part!
This is open to everyone! We’ll be accepting donations of men’s, women’s and children’s clothes, shoes and accessories, as well as a section for all your unwanted fancy dress items!
How does it work?
1. Drop off your unwanted (clean and in an acceptable condition) items between 08.30 and 11.00 at the Cube, SUSU (Building 42). You’ll be given a token for each donated item (up to a maximum of 10).
2. Return between 12:00-15:00 to exchange your tokens for your new favourite clothes
What if I don’t have anything to donate?
From 12.30 onwards you’ll be able to buy items for the bargain prices of £1.00 for clothes/shoes items and just 50p for any accessories. Our prices won’t be beaten anywhere else on the High Street!
Any money raised will be donated to RAG and leftover items from the event will be donated to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Fancy helping out?
Volunteer to help on the day and you’ll get first dibs on the clothes and receive Graduate Passport points.

So raid out your wardrobes, dust down those old shoes and come along to what is expected to be one of the biggest events on campus this year. You never know, you may find some real bargains!
