Return of the Innovations Fund
A chance to think big – blue sky – and consider what you could do with some money to create more opportunities for students… that’s right – it’s the return of the innovations fund. A chance to inject some cash to help start new campaigns, projects, activities, support for the students of Southampton.
Brought back from last year after popular demand, SUSU has set aside £25,000 to bring back the Innovations Fund. Why do I think this is important?… As I have said numerous times already this year, we can achieve so much more as a community of students if dozens and hundreds of students are facilitated to achieve things – especially if the alternative is me just trying to make a difference. Share this blog around to the committee of your student group, or to a friend who’s passionate about a student campaign, to make sure that they make the most of this opportunity.
This form has all the details about how the procedure works… and this is the form that you need to fill in to be able to apply. In terms of when you need to apply, we have two rounds of funding where written proposals should be received by the Head of Finance (J.Mills@soton.ac.uk):
- 9am 24th March 2014 (for the funding meeting on 28th March) or
- 9am 19th May 2014 (for the funding meeting on 23rd May 2014).
I really want to see a wide range of projects coming to this fund… from each zone of SUSU, from different student groups, for a group of friends coming together with a cause in mind! Here are some of the great projects that have already been funded this year. To help write your applications, here you can find a copy of the Union Plan to 2015.
Cheers for reading – and hopefully this will be a chance for you to start something amazing for the students of Southampton.
