Do You Want To Be A Fresher Rep?

Fresher Reps are students who work with the JCR to help welcome new students to the University. They are hard working, committed and personable individuals, who enjoy meeting new people, and who want to help create the best welcome experience that they possibly can.

This year, SUSU has created two different Rep positions for 2014:

Fresher Reps

Senior Fresher Reps

All successful Fresher Reps will be grouped into teams of 6, taking into account whether you’re a Post Grad student, an International student, and of course friendship groups. These teams of 6 will then be supervised by a Senior Fresher Rep, increasing the team to 7, and they will report directly to the JCR. These teams wills tick together throughout the welcome period.

By being in a small team throughout, you can begin to rely on each other, understand each other’s strengths, and truly help make the welcome period the best it can be!

I am already a part of SUSU working at Glen Bar which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I believe my choice to work for SUSU evolves around how excellent freshers fortnight was and how helpful the freshers reps were towards myself. I know how important it is to make the new students feel involved with Southampton University’s community and to allow them the access to the broad selection of activities put on during this fortnight. I believe that I can appropriately help out with students moving in to their new blocks and help out around their campus with directions and relative answers to their questions.
