Lights, Camera, Ice Cream

Minghella Parlour fits in perfectly with our American Retro theme

I am proud to announce that SUSU will be opening an authentic ice cream parlour within our newly refurbished Bar Three American Retro Diner. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be supported by the famous Minghella Brand a local family business that has been making the Isle of Wight’s’ most loved and celebrated ice creams and sorbets for over 60 years.

This awarding winning family run business boasts over 230 ice creams and sorbets  which will both delight and enchant you. With over 80 Great Taste Awards to their credit we will be able to choose anything from  the Bellini Classico to Raspberries and Champagne, flavours are unique to the company and the Strawberry Cheesecake is bound to become a firm favourite.

But we are not stopping there! We will be developing our own SUSU flavour ice cream and also our customers will be able to interact via Facebook by voting for the next flavours we choose to put on our menu which will change on a day by day basis . Delicious toppings such as honeycomb, M&M’s, bubblegum, marshmallows and many more will add to the experience of this outlet and we are confident it will fast become a favourite place to hang out at SUSU.

Why did we choose Minghella? Apart from our passion to support local business with strong environmental credentials, their service and passion for their products is second to none. Also the chances are you’ve heard the Minghella name before, but not in connection with the ice cream. The very same family that brings you such fabulous ice cream also nurtured the late film director, writer and producer, Anthony Minghella. Within the film industry, Anthony’s incredible talent was recognised and sought-after, and his legacy of wonderful films especially The English Patient (1996), which won 9 Oscars and 6 Baftas, lives on and continues to inspire young film makers today.

Gioia Minghella, Managing Director, said “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen to supply SUSU’s Truly Madly Deeply (with apologies to my late brother, Anthony!) wonderful new ice cream parlour.   We love the brilliantly designed new Hollywood-inspired space, which will be the perfect setting for enjoying delicious ice cream sundaes and treats made with our delicious, award-winning ice creams and sorbets.   How about a Cold Mountain sundae, or the specially created SUSU ice cream?   We can’t wait!”

Nor can we, and the Parlour will be opening along with the rest of the diner on the night on the 24th of September
