Resignation of Faculty Officer for Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences

The Faculty Officer for Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences, Harriet Hall, has stepped down this week, so the position is now up for by-election. You can only nominate yourself if you are in this faculty. If you are and want to run head to susu.org/elections before 15th October at 12pm.

The role of a Faculty Officer is to be the lead representative in the Faculty. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the team of Academic Presidents
  • Help resolve large scale issues/share best practice across the faculty
  • Direct the strategic plan of the faculty representation
  • Contribute to high level decision making in the Union by sitting on both Education Zone Committee (6 times a year) and Union Council (6 times a year)
  • Contribute to high level decision making in the University by sitting on Faculty Programmes Committee (with a chance of others too, if you want!)
