PGR, PGT, Halls Committee… Basically all the Elections News Ever!!

 

We have had so many amazing elections over the past few weeks it’s fantastic. So I’ll take this speace to firstly introduce you all to our new PGT Officer who is Ruchika Menon.

I’d like to congratulate Ruchika on her election and I look forward to working with her.

 

Furthermore following the success we had with the Halls Committee Elections we held by-elections yesterday and i would like to congratulate the following people for putting themselves forward an joining the family 🙂

With regards to the positions that are still unfilled the following positions are still vacant and if you’re interested in running for them please send an email to democracy@susu.org with a 250 word manifesto stating why you would want to run for the following position by Tuesday the 1st of December.

And Finally moving on to PGR elections:

As you were probably aware, last week nominations were open for the positions on the new PGR Committee. To remind you, the positions are as follows:

  • Academic Quality Officer
  • Welfare Officer
  • Community Engagement Officer
  • Training & Development Officer

The Community Engagement Position was uncontested so I’d like to congratulate Benjamin Yarnall on being elected in to that position.

Unfortunately, there were no nominations for the position of Training and Development Officer. If you would like to put yourself forward for this role, please contact democracy@susu.org. The role is to communicate with PGRs on the strengths and weaknesses of current training and development opportunities and communicate their ideas and feedback to the Union and the University with an aim to improve the current provision.
