Battle of the Bins: It’s time for Waste Wars 2016
Did you know that only 26.1% of household waste in Southampton was sent for reuse, recycling or composting in 2014/15? It’s time for our annual waste audit and this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever for the 10th anniversary.
What will you get?
– Loads of free stuff and prizes!
– Free SUSU food voucher to use when you like
– Unique audit skills and experience to put on your CV
You can make a real difference!
As a result of Waste Wars, last year the uni waste and recycling scheme moved to a two-bin system following on from analysis of the waste wars results. This increased the recycling rates from 38% to over 70% in just four months – over and beyond our 60% goal.
Plus you get to be nosy and find out the weird and wonderful things people throw away on campus…
