Has your society done something awesome this year?
In what may terrify some of you, we’re now in the final week of the Spring term for the 2016-17 academic year! It might be an opportunity to wind down before you head home for Easter, take a look back at what you’ve achieved over the past term, or maybe even rush to finish off your dissertation before the impending deadline (if you’re that way inclined).
If you’re a member of one of our 350+ Clubs and Societies, it could also be an opportunity to think about all of the awesome things you’ve done in the year so far, and to submit a nomination in this year’s National Societies Awards.
Formed last year, the National Societies Awards is the best way to celebrate the hard work that goes in to the huge variety of things that societies get up to. This year they’re taking place at Crowne Plaza in Nottingham on Friday 19 May.
There are 14 awards categories, ranging from ‘Best Volunteering and Charity Society’, ‘Best Art and Performance Society’, to ‘Best Campaigning Society’, all the way up to the big one: ‘Best Society’! Tickets are £40 and include afternoon sessions held at the University of Nottingham, a drink on arrival at the ceremony, an evening of entertainment, and a 3-course dinner!
Find out all you need to know, including how to nominate, by clicking here. Best of luck to everyone who submits a nomination!
Please note that these Awards are open for societies, and as such are not open to sports clubs.
